What is Six Sigma?

Six Sigma is a data based management approach and the basis for a new culture in relation to a systematic approach to improve quality. Six Sigma focuses on the reduction of process variations using analytical and statistical methods and strives for fact-based decision making.

Six Sigma improvement activities are applicable to all business processes of your company, e.g. production processes , production support processes , as well as leadership and service processes.

The five phases of the Six Sigma approach, also known as DMAIC:

Define – Define the real problem and quantify the impact

Measure – Explore possible causes of the problem and measure this in practice

Analyze – Perform a complete statistical analysis

Improve – Work on improvement plans and suggestions,  and consistently implement these plans

Control – Ensures long-term sustainability of solutions in the organisation
